Especially around this time of year, my head feels full and my body is very clearly telling me to slow down. You know that thing where someone says “calm down”… and you immediately do the opposite?

This year, though, something has really shifted for me. I am becoming much more attuned to listening to my body instead of pushing through and overriding its signals. Thanks to the incredible Kinesiology sessions I have received from my colleagues, I am noticing what I need rather than ignoring it. This feels like a big change after many years of pressuring myself to perform, regardless of how I felt physically or emotionally.

A few months ago, I developed plantar fasciitis, which was totally new for me. It is an inflamed ligament in the foot that makes those first steps in the morning, or after sitting, particularly painful. As a physiotherapist, I understand the stretches and exercises that help manage the symptoms. As a Systematic Kinesiologist, I also understand how the structures involved are connected with the adrenal glands, and how ongoing stress can run these down and impact the wider endocrine system. The endocrine system is the network of glands that communicate through hormones to keep the body functioning and adapting.

After just one Systematic Kinesiology session with a wonderful colleague, my plantar fasciitis symptoms have almost completely disappeared. Today, I began a nutritional supplement routine to support the balance created during my treatment and to give my body what it needs to continue healing itself. As the pain under my foot has eased, I have become aware of tension in the muscles around my ankle. These muscles are linked with the emotion of fear. This is something I have been trying to ignore, but my body is gently reminding me that this fear is connected to repeating old patterns around my health and my priorities in life.

To support this emotional layer, I have introduced Bach Flower Chestnut Bud. Yes, I even massage it into the tight muscles to help ease the tension and support integration.

I am learning. I am healing. I have got me, and I have got you.

My 2026 diary is now open, so please get in touch to book in and hear what your body is telling you.
